What you actually get
A page of your own at /<slug> with a description, pricing, a licence badge and a Visit button carrying a real dofollow, plus a place in however many alternatives-to pages apply to you. The site publishes its own numbers on the advertise page: 4,500 monthly pageviews, 107 listed projects and 325 newsletter subscribers, so it is small and honest about being small. Note the split on a listing page: the main Visit link is a real dofollow, while the secondary links elsewhere on it, the blog, pricing, how-it-works and the socials, are not.
How to submit to YouMightNotNeed
- Work out what you replace, firstThe form has a required field asking which well-known tool yours is an alternative to. Decide the honest answer before opening it, because the whole site is built out of alternatives-to pages and there is no general listing.
- Fill five fields at /submitYour name, your email, the tool's name, its website, and the well-known tool it replaces. A newsletter tick sits underneath. No account, no logo, no captcha.
- Submit and waitTheir note under the button says submission alone does not guarantee a feature and that the software must be actively maintained and an alternative to popular software. No review time is published.

Gotchas
Being a good tool is not enough: the listing only exists as an alternative to something famous, and the form asks you to name it. A product with no well-known counterpart fails the site's own stated condition however maintained and live it is.
Only the main Visit link is followed. Every other outbound link on a listing page, the blog, pricing, how-it-works and the socials, carries nofollow, so the dofollow is one link on one page.
The alternative field is marked required with an asterisk but carries no required attribute, so the form will submit without it and the submission then fails their published condition rather than being caught at the button.
