What you actually get
A project page on a board aimed at developers, with a followed link once it clears review. In practice the free lane is currently unfinishable: the control that unlocks Verify Backlink does not respond, so nothing reaches review without paying the $9.90.

How to submit to DevHub

  1. Sign in
    Google, GitHub or an email and password.
  2. Project Info
    Name, website URL, an optional affiliate URL, a rich-text short description, then the logo and product image as uploads.
  3. Details
    Up to three categories from a searchable list, up to five tech-stack tags, platforms, a pricing model, and optional GitHub and Twitter URLs.
  4. Launch Type and badge
    Free Launch or a paid tier. The free card then shows the badge snippet, a checkbox saying you have added it, and Verify Backlink. Next stays disabled until the check passes.
  5. Review and submit
    A summary, then Submit Project.

Gotchas

The badge confirmation checkbox does not respond. Clicking the box, its label and the hidden input all leave aria-checked false, so Verify Backlink stays disabled and the free lane cannot be finished at all. The badge can be live on your site and it makes no difference.
The badge has to be live before that step would let you through anyway, and the snippet points at a page that does not exist until the first two steps are filled, so it cannot be put up in advance.
Sixty days is the stated free queue, which is longer than the sibling boards running the same software, so the same badge buys a slower listing here.
