What you actually get
A page at /startups/<slug> with a logo, screenshots, a markdown description, up to three categories, a tech stack, launch status, upvotes and a view count. The Website anchor is rel="noopener noreferrer", so the link follows. Their dashboard shows the listing at PENDING with the line "Under review. Usually takes 1 to 2 business days."

How to submit to JunkStartups

  1. Step 1, the essentials
    URL, name, a tagline capped at 80 characters, up to three of twenty categories, a pricing model, and an optional email for draft recovery. A completeness meter and a live preview run beside the form.
  2. Step 2, enrich
    All optional: a logo, a markdown description with a stated 50 character minimum for full score, up to five screenshots, up to ten technologies, GitHub, demo and X links, and a launch status of Idea, Beta or Launched.
  3. Step 3, the account
    Only now does it ask you to sign in, with GitHub, Google or a magic link. Your draft is already saved, and signing in submits it.

Gotchas

The account is the last step, not the first, and pressing Submit for Review is what reveals it. Everything you typed is kept, but anyone unwilling to make an account has already done the work by then.
The completeness meter stops moving well before 100%: ours sat at 75% with a logo, a screenshot, six technologies, a description, links and a status all filled. Treat it as a nudge rather than a checklist you can finish.
The description is markdown and says so, with a 50 character minimum for full score. Plain prose is fine, but a paste with stray asterisks will render as formatting.
The tagline is capped at 80 characters and it is the line that appears under your name everywhere on the site, including the dashboard.
