Crunchbase: requirements, how to submit, and what you actually get
The company database investors and journalists actually check, free to add yourself to, and nofollow on the way out.

Eligibility
Who Crunchbase accepts
You need
An account: Google, LinkedIn, or email and a password
Real company facts, since the profile is a company record rather than a product listing
Agreement to their terms, in a modal that blocks the app after sign-up
You'll be rejected if
A product with no company behind it: the six profile types are Company, Investment Firm, Person, School, Individual Investor and Event, and none of them is a product

What you actually get
A company profile that turns up when somebody searches your name: investors doing diligence, journalists checking a founding date, and anybody who wants to know whether you have raised. It is a credibility record rather than a traffic channel, and the outbound link carries rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer".
How to submit to Crunchbase
1
Get past the bot check
/add-new answers with a Cloudflare session verification for several seconds before anything renders, and then redirects to a log-in wall reading "Before you can create a profile on Crunchbase, we need to know who you are".
2
Register
Register with Google or LinkedIn, or an email with a first name, a last name and a password of at least eight characters with a number, a lowercase and an uppercase.
3
Agree to the terms
The first thing after sign-up is a Welcome to Crunchbase modal acknowledging the terms of service, the cancellation policy and the privacy policy. It blocks the page until it is accepted.
4
Pick a profile type and fill it
Add new profile offers six types: Company, Investment Firm, Person, School, Individual Investor and Event. A product goes in as a Company.
Crunchbase requirements
Account (Google, LinkedIn, or email and password)
Agreement to their terms, cancellation policy and privacy policy
Company name, website and description
Founding details and location, which the company profile is built around
Gotchas
There is no product listing here. The six profile types are all organisations, people or events, so a product has to be filed as a company.
A terms modal blocks the whole app immediately after sign-up, which means an agent working in your browser cannot get past the front door for you.
Their bot check runs before the page does: /add-new sits on a Cloudflare verification for several seconds and then redirects, which looks like a broken link rather than a queue.
Let your agent submit to Crunchbase
Connect SubmitMap to your AI over MCP and this page stops being something you read and copy. Your agent asks for the Crunchbase playbook and gets the brief for this exact form, with the values already taken from your submission pack instead of placeholders you fill in by hand.
What it does for this platform
Checks your product against the 4 Crunchbase rules above, so you find out you would be rejected before you open a tab.
Hands your agent all 4 fields this form asks for, none of them optional, already filled from your pack.
Tells you what paying buys here, so you pick it on purpose: adding a profile is free. What is sold is the other side of the desk: search, alerts and exports on a Pro subscription, pitched from a Start Free Trial button on every page.
Types it into Crunchbase in your own browser, and stops for you when the form wants a sign-in.
Records what it sent, so the dashboard can answer "did I ever submit to Crunchbase?".
