What you actually get
A listing page with your description, category, pricing tags and screenshot, plus placement in the category and pricing feeds and an embeddable badge. The link out carries rel="sponsored", on paid and free listings alike, so treat this as discovery rather than SEO.
How to submit to ToolScout
1Sign in
Continue with Google, or an email link. The submit page shows the pitch and a sign-in prompt until you do.
2Fill one screen
Tool name (80 characters), URL, an optional 1,000-character description, platforms, an optional download link, a pricing page or a 'completely free' checkbox, pricing tags, and a category you can leave for them to choose.
3Choose a placement
Free, Boost at $49 or Featured at $99. Free is the default and is a real listing, not a teaser.
4Declare and submit
Tick 'I built this tool' if true, add optional notes for the reviewer, and submit. You land on /submissions with the entry marked In review.

Gotchas
Every outbound link carries rel="sponsored", including on free listings, so Google is told to pass nothing. The badge and the audience are the payoff.
Free review runs up to a week; the $49 and $99 tiers buy 24 to 48 hours as much as they buy placement.
It is an AI directory and the category list is entirely AI. A product with an AI feature bolted on will be judged by a human against 1,500 tools that lead with it.
Let your agent submit to ToolScout
Connect SubmitMap to your AI over MCP and this page stops being something you read and copy. Your agent asks for the ToolScout playbook and gets the brief for this exact form, with the values already taken from your submission pack instead of placeholders you fill in by hand.
What it does for this platform
Checks your product against the 4 ToolScout rules above, so you find out you would be rejected before you open a tab.
Hands your agent all 6 fields this form asks for, 2 of them optional, already filled from your pack.
Tells you what paying buys here, so you pick it on purpose: $49 Boost (one week priority) and $99 Featured (two weeks) also cut review to 24-48 hours.
Types it into ToolScout in your own browser, and stops for you when the form wants a sign-in.
Records what it sent, so the dashboard can answer "did I ever submit to ToolScout?".
