What you actually get
A server page under smithery.ai/servers/<namespace>/<id> carrying every tool your server exposes, with its description read straight from your own tool schemas, a usage counter, an Add to toolbox button and a followed link to your homepage. There is no editorial review: the listing exists as soon as their inspector connects.
How to submit to Smithery

Sign in
/servers/new bounces to a WorkOS sign-in offering email, Google and GitHub. The namespace is derived from the account rather than chosen.

Name the server and give them the URL
Two fields: a server id under your namespace, and the HTTP URL where your MCP server answers. Nothing about the listing copy is asked for.

Declare connection settings, or skip
A parameter builder for the values users must supply to connect. Skipping is offered and is the right answer for a server whose useful tools work unauthenticated; their inspector logs a warning about a missing config schema either way.

Watch the inspection, then publish
They connect to the server, read its metadata, count its tools and generate the listing. On this walk it took nine seconds and reported eleven tools. The Publish button stays disabled until that finishes.

Fill in the parts the inspection cannot see
The listing goes live with no description and a quality score. Settings carries display name, a markdown description, homepage, GitHub repo and an icon; filling those took the score from 45 to 69.

Gotchas
The listing publishes with no description at all: the tool list comes from your server, the prose does not. Until you go back into Settings and write one, the page reads "No description" and scores low.
Your tool schemas are the listing copy. Whatever you wrote in each tool's description is what a stranger reads when deciding whether to install, and there is no separate field to fix it.
Publishing needs a server that is live and reachable at the moment you press the button, because the flow connects to it rather than queueing a form.
